    That's because they ARE allium flowers! :D

    Every year, I gather any garlics that didn't split and bury them all together and they put a glorious display of purple flowers - and eventually they do bulb up and they can be dug up and eaten if I ever run out of garlics.

    Which almost never happens as I grow so many. But if it did...I'd have a standby
