I want to raise money for charity

Options
Hi all,

I want to raise money for charity. I have done things in the past and raised the od £10 - £30 pounds but i want to go big this time i am talking at least over £100.

The charity i've chosen means alot to me as i've suffered with it all my life..... Alopecia. Its not government funded so all money has to be raised by people.

How can I do this? How do I get sponser forms? Can I make them myself or contact the charity? I have a few ideas on what to do. They are below Let me know of any other ideas you can think of.:

Sponsered Swim
Sponsered bike Riding (gym)
Sponsered Walk
Lose weight (weird i know)
Raffle/Tombola if can get things donated from companies

I am lucky in the fact that I have a large workplace where I can ask people to sponser me as well.

Any help/ideas would be great :D

  • You could of course do your own but you might want to let the charity know you are doing this. Most do their own forms so this would be better to use these, particularly as they will then be set up with all the relevant detail (such as charity number etc) and also have provision for gift aid. Like your ideas, last year I did a sponsored 13 mile walk around the ring road of our city. It was quite tough but enjoyable too!

definitely contact the charity: for one thing if you are raising money in their name they need to know. And they should have sponsorship forms / gift aid forms / advice on online fundraising etc etc etc.

Sponsors from the US would probably find it easier to give online so that's another reason to contact the charity / look on their website.

have an idea. not great but...
you have a toy, say a dog. Print a list of say 40 names out for it. Pick a name, this name is the "winner" you sell the names to people(much like a raffle) and people have a chance to get the name and get the teddy.

Hope it goes well with the sponsor.
