Quote Help

Can anyone help with a query. My son's insurance is due next month, so we are getting quotes via these comparison sites but we are unsure what to put when it comes to accident.

I posted a while ago about him being involved in a tut at the end of last year. The quote that came back from the other people was £212 for repairing the paint scrape that my son caused. Unfortunately the other couple put in personal injury claims but my son's insurance company are now challenging this and have gathered evidence.

Back to the comparison site. When it asks about accident - I have put accident and damage cost known. Then it says cost if known, do I put £212 which was the cost of the repairs and tick that there were injuries or does the price need to reflect possible settlement for the personal injury?. Then it says claim made under your insurance. I presume that we say yes.

Just want to get an idea of price but I would obviously phone up to clarify price etc before purchasing.

As the claim is ongoing, and you don't know the final cost, it would be easier (and truthful) to say you don't know the cost.

So when it says cost of damage, that needs to incorporate the cost of the injury claim too?

Usually they want to know the cost of a claim - (the injury is damage), but ask the company concerned if you see it as an ambiguous question.

Thanks Quentin. I think he will need to speak with his insurance company then as I can't see it being settled within the next couple of weeks.
