Hi
Just wondered if anyone has experienced problems booking with the tesco hotel vouchers? My Husband and i have £80 worth of vouchers and have called the Carlton, Hastings and the Radisson and all are extremely expensive even with the vouchers. it would be much cheaper booking on line with out them
Lady at Hastings advised that theres an extra charge of £30 a night for booking with tesco vouchers..it all seems pointless.
Avaialability has been terrible too
Do you think we could get them changed into cinema vouchers?

£30 a night charge?? Thats a bit harsh.
http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/browse.aspx?N=4294964844+4294965201 have you tried this chain? They have a hotel in belfast (malone lodge).“A house is made of walls and beams;a home is built with love and dreams.”2012 Challenge to buy most gifts and non essentials from money made online.:money:0 -
Thanks! We live just outside belfast so Belfast didn't really appeal but at this stage I think we'll try anything just to get them used up!
I have a list of 3 I might try down in the Dublin area but if they are the same as the others I will call tesco and see if i can change them over.0 -
£30 charge!!!!????
I have £180 of Hastings vouchers which I was intending using in the next month or two for Slieve Donard. Even then, it has to be on a weekend only and minimum stay of 2 days, which STILL worked out at an extra £60 above the 180. God only knows what extras they will charge me...money grabbers.0 -

Guess why they charge for using vouchers is the retailers only get about a third back from Tesco. That's why so few are using them and some are now withdrawing from them.0 -
£30 charge... what a total rip off.
I didn't exchange my CC vouchers for hotel deals but, if I had, I would be ringing Tesco to complain.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Hi, We stayed at the Hilton on Charlement place using vouchers. Paid for B and B for a weekend cost us about £60 in vouchers with the old cc exchange rate but still excellent value now at 3*value for a brilliant hotel in an excellent location. Def recommend it........Also used hi life card in hotel....0

I;m going to call them at lunch...one last try!
I emailled Select Hotels this morning and they are £150 a night for any night...much more than their online offers.
Its a rip off the whole thing0 -
I've had a couple of issues with this
1. Tesco had my address wrong and hadn't been sending out my vouchers, they then wouldn't send them out before the cut-off date to get 4x the value, so I had to wait and get 3x at the end of Dec.
2. When I phoned the Slieve Donard they told me that we could book a weekend at the hotel and were not limited to weekdays as the vouchers had said.
3. I didn't need to give the Voucher numbers to the Slieve Donard when I booked, I was told just to bring them with me. If I'd known this I'd have booked earlier instead of waiting and trying to build up vouchers.
4. The Slieve Donard have told me that it's a flat £300 rate for a two night stay when paying with clubcard vouchers which is well over their normal rate.
I only have £225 in hotel vouchers - thats I've spent £75 in clubcard vouchers and I'll have to add an extra £75 to that!
Scandalous :mad:0 -
My wife and I are just back from a Tesco break in the Silver Tassie Hotel and Spa (just outside Letterkenny).
I agree that they definatley bump the prices up but even still i would recommend the hotel. It worked out £111 per night bed and breakfast but we had £200 of vouchers so added the £22, the way i look at it its still a cheap break!!

We booked recently for one of the hastings group for our wedding anniversary. I was quoted £380 for 2 nights in a superior Double for 2 nights including breakfast. It works out at £37 more than is quoted on their booking site without tesco rewards. TBH for a little bit of luxury I personally think its worth it. Have £147 worth of reward vouchers so far so will be trying everything to get more points.“A house is made of walls and beams;a home is built with love and dreams.”2012 Challenge to buy most gifts and non essentials from money made online.:money:0
