That's a lot of friendly local (highly qualified and professional) estate agents saying prices are going down.
    So it must be true

To be honest you really should take what they say with a pinch of salt.

The situation is more likely to be much worse than they are saying. :D

They are basically saying, "don't buy now", prices are still going down.
How much worse can it get for a salesman

Are we to have a new thread start every time house prices are mooted to be going up or down a fraction of a percent?

Ridiculous on a debate house prices board, don't you think?

There are plenty of times I've commented on 'house prices rise' threads , arguing my reasons as to why they've risen and that it's temporary etc, based in facts as I see them, yet.......

On 'house prices falling' threads we don't see Hamish, Sibley or ant other rampant bullish posters posting, why ??

My feeling is deep down they know given the evidence before them no argument can be made and in general they only post to reinforce there own thoughts and VI.
Have owned outright since Sept 2009, however I'm of the firm belief that high prices are a cancer on society, they have sucked money out of the economy, handing it to banks who've squandered it.

Ignoring the "official" figures which are of course just spin and bullsh1t, prices have been falling for well over a year and will continue to do so until they become more alligned with income levels.

    patience ad, patience.

they're probably feverishly poring over the detail, desperate for a chink of light.

allow me to assist. bullet point 5 re 'dwindling supply later in the yr to act as price support' should offer some relief.

there. glad to be of help.

I take it you're going to completely ignore supply and demand then?

No, but I didn't pay any rent, and I found this question mark that someone had dropped, so it wasn't all bad. :)

    No you haven't.

I dare you to go up to a vendor with a print out of this report and demand £1500 off.

No not at all, supply is higher than ever and demand is rather low.
