edf energy or ovo any good

hi all, we have been with scottish power for a couple of years and have had no problems, but looks like now is the time to change suppliers.

have used a couple of the comparison sites and edf + ovo have come out on top.

our current monthly direct debit is approx £80, ( 40 for both gas and electricity) we are on a standard online tarrif with no standing charge.

our gas boiler is brand new.

would you change supplier

Bear in mind that EDF have not yet announced their price rises ( ~ April) whereas all the other major suppliers have.

Hi Bryan, if there is not a lot in it, I would stay with Scottish Power.Brilliant system.
Seems odd to me that EDF chose the Christmas peiod to promote a new tariff and also change computer software/systems.
Ovo has simple billing.

hi, i was going to go for one of their fixed rate tarrifs, thts decision is based on the results from comparethemarket

Switched from SP to Ovo in October and no problems to date. A few threads on here regarding Ovo and people seem happy in general.

hi, we both work from home. we spend approx £40 per month with scottish power on electricity, and they dont charge us a standing charge.

i guess a company that does charge a standing charge would charge less per unit of energy. so i guess we would be better off switching.
do you read your own meter and input the readings onto ovo web site
