Hi.
My Partner's employer has recieved a letter from DWP, asking if he has been working there since 21st july 2010.
My parnter started recieving JSA CB 21st july 2010,(after a break from not being entitled to any money on JSA IB), when he started the claim he declared this job, as its 15hours and £90 p/wk the JC said this was fine and didnt affect the claim.
The claim acceptance letter from JC says:
'you are not getting anymore JSA because:
You have more money coming than the law says you need to live on'
He was paid £51.85 p/wk (hes 24).
We recieved HB from 17th march 2010.
We declared the JSA CB for the HB,But they did not connect it to our claim, so we recieved an over payment from 4th aug 2010 to nove 2010 (ish).
The JSA CB 'over payment' worksout to around £1400.
The HB is in my name, but obviously declare my partner, and his JSA CB now theyve put in on the system properly!
Does anyone know what will happen?
What DWP will do now? What the concequences could be?
His employer is 'cash in hand', and doesnt declare his staff. Will there be concequences for him could be too?
Thanks.

When he was signing on each fortnight it will have asked if he has been working and what earnings. As his earnings were more than the JSA he would have received no payment but would still have been credited with his NI stamp. Did he declare his hours at each signing session?0

Sorry, are you saying he's been earning £90 per week and getting full JSA?0

Employer paying cash in hand hmm of course he's going to get in trouble
HMRC will be very interested!

Working is classed as a change in circumstances, therefore, has to be declared.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Is there written evidence that he declared the work? When I used to work there, I had to ask every claimant "Have you done any work in the last fortnight?" and the claimant signed to say that they had not and were entitled to benefits.0

Every time you sign on you have to declare what work you've done since you last signed on.
It's hardly surprising people are amused at someone who thinks that you can claim both wages and full JSA; how could either of you have thought that this was possible?0
