hi.. just a quicky...
i had a letter today offering £20. petrol reward voucher
from leisure time....which is a discounts programme for savings on restaurants... theatre...... festivals etc....
the t & c that you sign is as follows.....
by signing below i will be entitled to try leisure time for 30 days absolutley free. i accept that following the free 30 day trial period which begins once i recieve my membership pack, my membership will be automatically continued at the £6.99 monthly fee ( which includes vat )
billed to my barclaycard. without having to do any further for as long as i wish to remain a member.
if i decide leisure time is not for me, i'll cancel my mebership at any time during the 30 day free trail by calling o800 xxxxxx and owe nothing..
the petrol reward is mine to keep free..
what i can make out there is 4 £5. petrol vouchers... one for every quarter... so you send a petrol receipt for £5. and a voucher off to leisure time.. and then they send you the money back..
has anyone else done this ? as i was thinking of joining, and then cancelling within the 30 days......so in effect i get £20. worth of petrol for free ( price of stamps anyway)
thanks.. hope i have posted this in the right place...

I had this for the 30 day period tempted by the £40 free fuel which turned out to be over a full year very cunning I guess they hope you lose the vouchers, IMO the discounts did not seem to be at enough places I had only heard of a couple of the outlets advertised .
I Have just cancelled (that was a marathon) the telephone girl spent almost 15 minutes trying to talk me in to keeping my membership -suppose I expected that though.0 -
My partner did this. He's used 2 of his vouchers so far, cancelled the leisure time account during the 30 trial period and still has 2 other £10 vouchers. It's worth doing as long as you remember to cancel the membership in time and, like someone else said, the vouchers are spread out over the period of a year.PROUD TO HAVE DEALT WITH MY DEBTS0

i signed up to leisuretime on 26/02/09, and cancelled within the 30 days. they confirmed the cancellation in writing. i understand the 4 fuel vouchers come out every 3 months. should i have received the first one by now, or should i wait a little longer? would you recommend contacting them by mail or by phone to chase the voucher?0

The 4 vouchers should have been in your welcome pack, from memory it is a pale blue A4 sheet, the 4 vouchers are perforated to tear off this sheet,0 -
Leisure Time have changed the way they are working, look at this:

Othe companies who have been involved in this include Grattan, Ticketmaster, Barclaycard, Freemans and Kaleidoscope .
Allegations that people are being signed up without their knowledge.0 -
This has just happened to me.
Received my Barclaycard statement this weekend and there is a £69.99 charge to Leisure Time, a company I have never heard of prior to this , let alone dealt with.
Reading this has me more than a little worried. I have not been able to do anything yet because of the Bank Holiday.
Any advice as to what steps I should take will be welcome.0 -

If you cancel within the free trial they will not charge you. Every months you can continue claiming your petrol vouchers and they will sent them to you. if they are a bit late, just give them a call.
I have done this without a problem.0
