I have no idea what it is but I did :rotfl: when I read your post. Just out of interest how long has it been in the cupboard :eek:We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

About gravy - I make a fantastic onion gravy:
fry a thinly sliced onion in a splash of olive oil
add 1 stock cube, heaped teaspoon of marigold boullion, 2 heaped tsps cornflour, tbsp soy sauce, s+p
add water (or veg water if you have it) a little at a time and keep stirring.
keep cooking until the cornflour is cooked out.
I find it's made best in a large diameter pan, i use a 30cm sautee pan, but any large saucepan or even wok would be good.
This makes a fantastically rich and yummy gravy.0 -
My sister used to hunt it out when she came up from London. SHe couldnt buy it there in the 70s and 80's. I think she's weaned herself off it now but you use it to make gravy. Much better than gravy granules etc.
Can someone check the contents to see if its gluten free ( ie no wheat flour etc) cos I might get some, brings back fond memeories of wonderful dinners at home. Currently using bisto best cos its gluten free.

I got some too, from Morrisons. Ithink you add water and boil it in a pan adding the meat juices from the roast. I have yet to try it out too,but I am using up my Bisto granules first.earn what you can, save what you can, give what you can :hello:0

i remember being in junior school and mixing them with body lotion to make fake tan to put on my legs when it was the netball team photo!
hee hee
I always used to have a packet of it in the cupboard as did my mam and grandma. I think its something to do with them being so close to our surname (my maiden name). We havent had gravy in an age so i dont even know if i have any! will investigate tonight for sure!0 -
used my gravy salt today for first time. Delicious brown gravy, despite the roast ham leaving no juices at all. To think that I used to pay so much more for an inferior, unhealthy product!earn what you can, save what you can, give what you can :hello:0
