You may be entitled to a grant called Disabled Facilities Grant - try either social services or the local councils Housing Department.Desperately trying to get debt free!0

My sister has a very disabled 18 yr old son. Her local Social Services assessed her financial situation - her husband does work full time, but is on minimum wage, and she's on CA for her son.
The assessment concluded that she need make no contribution to the alterations required for her house, which is privately owned.
She had a ramp put in outside, a ground floor extension built with bedroom and bathroom/toilet with walk in shower room/wet room and all double glazing and central heating included.
The work was completed in the shortest possible time and has helped her tremendously.
Her social worker sorted it all out for her.0
