Barclays internet banking

Hi - this isn't money saving but I'm not sure where to put it and would value your input

I've been trying to log into my BF's barclays internet banking loads for the last 2/3 days and keep getting

'Sorry - Barclays Online Banking is currently unavailable.'

after the initial log in screen. Is this normal? Is anyone else getting it?

PS BF is in the states, has no access to the internet etc and asked me to check it so gave me his details. Honestly nothing untoward.

Dang. I am at work but I tried it from home as well last night and this morning. I was starting to think that I just keep trying to log on at the exact moments they take it offline for servicing.

Oh my giddy aunt.

Just tried again and, on a hunch, change the login details slightly predicting a typo in the details he gave me. Worked just fine.:rolleyes:

See, when I get the details wrong in my own hsbc account they say 'you've got yer details wrong' not this 'we're unavailable' stuff. Totally threw me off the scent!!

You're quite lucky then as with most systems if you put the wrong details in more than 2 or 3 times they'll just lock the account until the account holder phones up and verifies things with them to get it reset!!!
