This is only my second post, so please be gentle with me
Ive read Martins tips on House Insurance, but am still a little confused about the accidental damage cover.
Ive had my house 2 years, and didnt take out accidental damage. Ive found a quote this year (with esure), thats the same price to take out accidental damage.
Does anyone know how claiming on this works? If I make a claim, will my insurance go up massively the year after? (if so, how much?).
Some advice needed please
Thanks :money:

AD claims tend to have the greatest effect on premiums as they represent the highest risk.
It is always worth looking around at prices but remember that many home insurers include AD cover on contents for entertainment equipment (ie TV, Stereo, PC etc) as standard with the optional add on to extend this cover to furniture etc.
As to cost... if esure is the cheapest for you now then do another quote with them saying you had 1 claim and see the impact it has.... remember however that insurers count claims for 3-5 years so it isnt just one years premiums that are impacted. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
