Letter from Egg After 8 weeks saying they are still investigating

Have sent in a claim to Egg back in November. Which they acknowledge and were "investigating". Got a letter back today saying that they are still investigating, and please be patient but that we can take it to the obusman if we wish.

So whats best to do, wait a bit longer and see what they come back with in the next few weeks. Or take it to the Obusman?

Did they indicate how much longer they would need?

If for example they wanted another 2 or 4 weeks, I'd be inclined to wait.

If they haven't indicated how much longer, I would suggest making a complaint to the FOS. Get in the queue now, sort of thing.
(If the bank come back with an offer you accept before the FOS get involved, you can always let the FOS know and they will just return your complaint unprocessed)

No they didn't specifiy in the letter that just said "Thank you for your continued patience". So for all I know it could be another 6 months.

    Hiya

Give them a ring and ask for a rough timescale, this may help you to decide in where to go with this, good luck.;)
