Whywon't they play in my car

in Techie Stuff
Just bought a cdrw and 'burnt' some discs today. they are high speed cdrw but won't play in the car. I have redcorded them at several speeds. they will play on the stereo downstairs. have i bought the wrong cdrw's? if so what should i have bought?

some stereos are designed not to play copied cds it could be that the one in the car is one of these.

Try burning one on CD-R (Write Once) as opposed to CD-RW (Rewritable)
CD-RW's are less reflective than CD-R's IIRC and this means that lots of CD Players can't read them.

my car cd player is the same.... plays cd r's with no problems. cd'rw's no go.......smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....

Yep, similar experience with old(ish) CD player..yet with new one...OK. Stick to CD R's, they are cheap enough anyway!♥♥♥ Genius - 1% inspiration and 99% doing what your mother told you. ♥♥♥0

Just bought some CDR's and they work perfectly on the car stereo and my old stereo (12 years old) upstairs. What would I do without MSE.com?

Erase them. They are ok for backing up stuff.
