Hurricanewyn - thank you. yes, my mum has applied for succession of tenancy and my gran's house is a council house. the call was from the council, so presumeably the council housing department. my sister lives with my mum in the house, she's 19 and a student.

no, my sis hasn't provided a CT exemption from college, gran not long died, mum was sorting it all out on monday, they know she's a single person on a low income and has my sis living with her, so i guess she is claiming the single person allowance? although she was told by the one stop shop that she would be entitled to no CTB, they then changed their minds and said she would receive £5 per week off her council tax because of my sister.
