Advice on bathroom to buy

Hi

I remember being told a while ago that Hansgrohe or Aqualisa are the best showers to buy, while Ideal Standard, Twyfords, Duravit, Vitra Or Roca are best for baths, basins and loos.

Can anyone advise me on shower trays - what material should I go for? I am looking for quality and prepared to pay a bit extra for it.

Also, I am struggling to understand the word "chrome" as regards toilet hinges and shower enclosures. My experience is that these bits can easily become damaged with cleaners. Not many websites seem to explain exactly what the materials used are, i.e. does chrome mean chrome plated and is this ok?

Any help very much appreciated.

Mixer or shower, just to confuse you even more ;o))) I am buying renewing my bathroom and I am going for a Carron Index/Classic bath (Corronite) and Duravit Starck 3 pan and basin plus Hansgrohe taps and mixers.

Thank you diable but could you explain - mixer or shower? Sorry!

Can I ask where you are getting the products?

You can have a shower valve that is just for a shower or a mixer that controls flow to the bath or shower I went for unit that converts the flow between shower and spout via a tap something like a Hansgrohe Ecostat SL

I managed to get the taps from Ebay but the bath from Eastbrook via my wholesaler but it comes in at £440 (Carron Index/Classic 1700x750 Carronite) and my wholesaler has supplied me with my Duravit pan and basin, Vanity Unit and hidden cistern not cheap but heyho

Sorry, should have added that I don't think Eastbrook supply direct to the public - I bought everything through my bathroom fitter.
