Ridiculous Direct Debit increase... can this be right?
Hi everyone
Just a quick question, I moved over on to Npower's online tarriff in March last year and received our first bill in July (Npower owed us £74). After this bill, Npower reduced our monthly payment down to £48.
I have just (after much chasing up !) received a more recent bill and we owe Npower £14 but they want to put our payment up to £78 !!!
What would you suggest? The only difference I can see is that Npower have put their charges up by a HUGE amount!!!
Thanks
V

Can you not just pay the 14 quid and telling them to keep DD as it is? (might be worth writing actually)Light Bulb Moment - 11th Nov 2004 - Debt Free Day - 25th Mar 2011 :j0

We are with Npower Juice and have had similar experiences with them and also with BT. I can't decide whether they are incompetent or are trying to boost their cash flows. I have been told that if you manage to get in touch with them by phone then you can arrange a sensible monthly amount.0

The usual question. Estimated or actual readings? No free lunch, and no free laptop0

The payment would've been set to use up the credit which it has largely done. For this reason I suspect paying the balance and keeping the DD as it is will result in a debit balance. Check out the figures, its probably been worked out over six months and 12 months would produce a more sensible figure.
It could be right, but then the universe may cease to exist.Mixed Martial Arts is the greatest sport known to mankind and anyone who says it is 'a bar room brawl' has never trained in it and has no idea what they are talking about.0
