Barclaycard - "Offer Expired"?

I applied for a Barclaycards Gold card recently and just received a letter saying that "unfortunately the offer you applied for has expired". What does that mean?
I had previously received a letter saying that I was provisionally approved and that I had to mail in 3 documents and a signed form. I did this well before the 30 day response time ended. I see the Gold card is still offered on their website. The letter says that I'm welcome to apply for a different card. I don't know how to take the offer expired part of the letter.

Oh, since this is their gold card, I don't believe I was applying for any special BT or other offer.0

The sensible thing to do is to discuss it with Barclaycard.
It's possible, for example, that the documents you sent were not received. Original documents are normally returned soon after receipt so, if you have not had them returned, then it's more likely they were never received.Warning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.
