Tips for dog owners on a budget

I'm on a tight budget and I found a cheap dog friendly B&B in the Cotswolds by searching on the website roverrecommended.com and ordering by price. So I found a bargain and saved on kennel costs - result! I also buy own brand dog biscuits for working dogs from the Country Store as they are excellent quality (high protein, no nasty colour additives), good value and you don't pay VAT if you say that its for a working dog. Does anyone else have any top tips for reducing the cost of dog ownership? Thanks

HI and welcome to the Forums....

There is a lot of threads here already about keeping costs down - general threads.

If you have a specific question (food? insurance? medication?) you may get a better response...

What dog do you have by the way?

Just wanted to share my tip about the website roverrecommended.com and see if anyone could recommend a good value and quality tinned dog meat?

I've never used tinned food for any of my dogs, only complete dried, as I object paying for water. My GSD gets complete food, plus a fresh bone most days, and some fresh meat every so often, but he doesnt need either of those, he's just spoilt! He's healthy, happy and costs me around around £9 a week to feed which isnt bad because he's a big boy.
