How long for buyers survey after offer accepted?

How long does it usually take for a buyer to carry out a survey on your property. I've now waited over a week and am chasing the EA. I am ready to get a survey done on the property that I am buying but am waiting for my buyer to get his survey done first.
Everyone is entitled to my opinion!

Depends on how the buyer is getting their survey.
If it's being done separately - they might get it done quick.
If it's part of the mortgage application - then it depends on a) when they get their appointment at the bank to make the application and b) How quick the bank moves. Ours took 3 weeks post offer because it took 2 weeks to get an appointment at the bank.
But we kept the EA informed of this.

Hi evoke, our buyer took about 3-4 weeks to do the survey on our house after we accepted their offer. They were waiting for their buyer to do the survey on theirs...same sort of position you're in I guess

Hope you don't have to wait too long,

Our buyer, who's an investor (recommended by our EA) and told us he wanted to exchange within 3 weeks, took around 7 long bloomin' weeks (give or take a week) to get his survey done. Grrr. Saying that though, we're still not in a position to complete due to issues with the house we're buying so he's done us a favour in the long run. If he'd have pushed for the 4 weeks or so to complete he initially wanted, we'd probably still be living in a Travelodge

I know you're keen to get it all moving, but, unless there's a real reason for a manic rush, I'd keep on top of things, hurry them along where necessary or ring to see what stage things are at, but be careful about chasing. It's stressful enough and if the buyers think you're going to be sending out demands to chase them every week, they'll either think you're desperate to sell, or that they can do without the hassle and will find somewhere else. I imagine their survey will be done with a valuation by their mortgage provider. Might take at least two weeks to get that organised. We could only see our mortgage adviser on a Saturday and had to wait a couple of weeks for an appointment. If your buyer works full time, long hours, or weekends, it might not be so easy for him to get all this done within one week.

took our bank 3 weeks to get a surveyor round to look (we already had mortgage in principal before offering)0

Our survey was done less than a week after the offer was accepted and the mortgage offer came through the day after the survey. The only slow thing so far has been the seller's solicitors.0

My lender arranged my survey (if I used their surveyor it worked out considerably cheaper as then he could do their valuation and my survey in one visit). It was 2 and a half weeks after my offer was accepted that they arranged it.0

It was over three weeks before our buyer's surveyor came round, I was told it was quite normal for it to take this long for banks to organise it.
If you are a few steps along the chain and each person is waiting for their buyer's survey to be done before they organise their own then it can add up to quite a few weeks.0
