I agree whole heartedly with most of the above. The expense is ridiculous

Regarding what car it is we paid alot of money to be insured and i feel should be entitled to a similar car

Do those two sentences go together? Yes, perhaps you have paid a bit more to insure your vehicle but you also have to consider that is there a 'need' for a Lexus/Jaguar hire car just for example to go to the shops/work commute etc at a rate of £240 a day to the other parties insurer when the Third Parties Insurer could probably hire you a BMW 3 Series for about £75-80 a day ...

With all due respect that is my point exactly, i did not hire the Lexus at that stupid rate and i have found a hire co that can do us a Jag for alot less per day but if i take that it would be at the risk of us paying for it if for some reason 3p is not found liable, so until 3p admits liability we are stuck with the Lexus at the stupid rate.

My wife does a heck of alot of driving and as such we went to the effort and expense of getting a car she and my children would be very comfortable in, yet i am some how out of order in your opinion because i want equivalent car cos some silly moo takes our car off the road?

It's out of order because your hiring under a credit hire agreement and the insurer is left picking up the tab for a hire car that is 3x what they could get it for... I was a claim handler for 2 years dealing with these claims every day so I know exactly what you are entitled to, should get and COULD get. None the less, hope it gets sorted soon for you.
