                    All,
i have a problem, and not being technically advanced, would really appreciate some help.
Every time i log my machine on to the internet, it's coming up as page not found. I have no idea why.
I have taken the broadband modem out and refitted it.
I have tried with and without the firewall running.
I have tried 3 different browsers, all to no avail.
I have done spyware and virus check.
My computer is working fine apart from this.
I can load windows 98, which I prefer, i click talktak broadband, it loads up, but then i get this message for my web pages.
Please help me.
Yours very frustrated,
Mike.

Are the drivers for the broadband modem actually windows 98 drivers?
If so do you need to connect through a proxy server? try setting the proxy settings to automatically detect and see if it works0 -
Are you able to use the web browser to log into the modem?
Do you have the drivers for the NIC (network interface card) in your pc? Or have you connected the pc to the modem using a USB connection - which will also need it's own special drivers?
Does your pc say that it's conneected to a network?
Start-Settings-Control Panel-Network Connections0 -
I use a usb modem, and up until a day or so ago had no problems whatsoever, then it suddenly started happening.
I did change firewall providers a day or so ago, but this can't be the problem as I have tried with and without the firewall.
Not sure about proxies etc. I am a Technophobe.
Enlighten me further.

Did it stop working once you changed - what did you change from and what have you got now? Seems like the installation of the new firewall broke something.0
