    Hung up my suit!
To be honest I wasn't intending to be unkind so sorry if yours is a genuine post.

As others have said, you need to have combined SOA since, especially since you mention your wifes overspending as one of the main causes.

One of the first things you need is an acknowledgement of how you got to where you are and a commitment to change but I suspect that based on your own SOA and the level of debt you will need professional advice ASAP.
Money won't buy you happiness....but I have never been in a situation where more money made things worse!
  • Hi, just a point, what are your thoughts on a potential re-mortgage or sale of your property to clear your debts and start again ? you may still have enough if you sell at 210 to make another deposit on a smaller property, and be debt free apart from your mortgage ?
  • Maybe worth looking into an IVA, i did this over 10 years ago, and for me it worked, i paid back money over 3 years.. it certainly made me appreciate my cash after that,

    honestly, are you two serious?

londonpride, you obviously know what they mean by 'dept', have you not thought that they may have spelling trouble?

Marinelife, again, you think this is a joke post just because they have used a wrong word.

this is someone who is clearly having issues with their debt and are seeking help, yet you are putting them down for a few mistakes in their post.

if you dont have anything productive or informative to say, dont post.

to the OP, it may be worth speaking to CCCS, and arrange an appointment on the phone to discuss your options.
    good luck

Totally agree, I am sick to death of reading through threads on this forum, people seeking help for whatever reason, and all people see fit to do is criticise them for either spelling, circumstances or any other reason which they see fit.
I for one think twice now before posting anything on these forums, as the last thing someone needs when asking for advice and support is a string of negativity!

If it was your child and they have trouble with spelling do you A) Point out the errors so they can learn to get it right or do you B) Shrug and let them carry on getting it wrong so as not to hurt their feelings?

Put it this way, if your child gave you a letter that said: "Help me I'm being bulleed at school....." would you A)Tell them they're stupid and spelt bullied wrong or B)Discuss the far more important matter at hand?
If it's the former; you're an idiot.
    Trev. Having an out-of-money experience!
C'MON! Let's get this debt sorted!!
  • Totally agree, it is much better if we all remain stupid.

Never point out a mistake or have standards to aspire to lets all go around in a swamp of ignorance.

He was spelling it wrong, FACT. It was making him look stupid, FACT. He now knows how to spell it and will be able to get it right in future, FACT. I helped him, FACT.

If it was your child and they have trouble with spelling do you A) Point out the errors so they can learn to get it right or do you B) Shrug and let them carry on getting it wrong so as not to hurt their feelings? Be a good Samaritan and cross over the road dont just see a problem and ignore it, which is what everyone else in this thread did for a week. They ALL thought it, every single one thought: "thats not how you spell debt" and every one is guilty of just walking by on the other side of the road.

London Pride, you seem to have signed up to this forum purely to criticize the spelling of others you very very sad person. Six posts of what ? Rubbish.

By the way, in your last paragraph, first line, you have used past and present tense in the same sentence which is not very good English as you may well be aware. :T

You did not just point out a mistake you did it in a manner that was sarcastic and rude, that is what everyone is objecting to. Having difficulty with the way words are constructed is not a sign of stupidity, Albert Einstein had problems with this. It is a sign that your brain processes information in a different way to the norm.

All you have achieved is to demonstrate your own ignorance

I was in the same boat (being repossessed now so slightly changed..not sure for the better yet but hey ho)
If you go to the CCCS they can sort out the payments and write to each company for you. Some companies will only reduce payments or stop charges and interest when it is done through a debt agency anyway.

Then change what you can, we don't have a home phone anymore and just use tesco payg mobiles as they do that double up top up thing which means we get £30 of calls a month for £10
We also got a dongle for the computer and put £10 per month on that, so once it runs out that is it done.
We kept the sky box ( had it for years so was ours) and use that for freeview
I go to tesco on friday morning ( early) and get all the cheap meat to fill the freezer ( although I am not running that down but you can get a leg of lamb for £4.00 in the reduced section)
If you need 2 cars then downgrade
    There is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;
So they break the hearts of kith and kin, and roam the world at will.
