VLC Download For Windows 7 64bit

I have done a reinstall of Windows7 and have used the 64bit CD this time, so the VLC I had is for 32bit I have had a look round but I cant seem to find a 64bit version does anyone know where I can get one please.

Its still only 32 bit IIRC , but the 32 bit works fine on my 64bit 7

Just install the 32 bit version. I have it on my Win 7 64 pc and it runs fine.
Most 32 bit applications will run fine on 64 bit, but if there is a pure 64 bit version of the software, obviously use it, as it will be able to access all of the available memory

Being a 64bit novice I didn't realise I can use 32bit software unless there is a pure 64 bit version of the software, so learn't something there :j

Yes I think main issues is 32 bit codecs are the issue. 32bi version works fine in 64 bit windows7

Most 32bit software will work fine in 64bit, haven't come across anything so far that dont work

32-bit software won't work on a (pure) 64-bit operating system, so the 64-bit version of Windows 7 uses the WoW64 (Windows 32-bit on Windows 64-bit) subsystem. It's a compatibility layer that allows the 32-bit software to communicate with 64-bit processes.

When Windows 95 came out, Microsoft did something similar to allow the 16-bit processes from Windows 3.x to function on the new 32-bit system.

As far as I know, device drivers have to run natively, so you'd need 64-bit drivers on a 64-bit system.
