I Need a UK Contact Number for BT

I signed up with BT last year from Primus on one of their packages with apromise of a £36 credit that I never received. I have now received 3 bills whereby the credit has failed t be applied. On each previous occasion I have contacted CS (India unfortunately) and been promised that it would be added to my next bill. I have just had my 3rd bill and the credit has not been added. I don't want to speak to India again but the numbers I have managed to glean from Saynoto0870 are either outdated or now transferre to India.

I am tied to a 12 month contract but will be voting with my feet when the 12 months is up:mad:

If the £36 was part of the contract, then you are not tied, because they are not fulfilling. But you need to lay in your paper trail and ask them to give you you £36 or explain why you are not getting it and give them a reasonable time to resolve this - and tell them that if they don't the contract is rescinded.

  • Simple. When you pay your next bill withold the relevant disputed amount and pay the difference.

Then put IN WRITING why you've done what you've done and send it recorded delivery.

If, more probably, when, your line gets cut off for non payment thanks to their incompetence you then have a paper trail to point the regulator at :)
  • It turns out they have actually refunded the money after all - it just didn't show up against online payments. They said if I had pper billing I would have seen it:mad:

Checked from last bills balance and thi bills balance and it has indeed been credited:D
  • Guys, landline number for BT 02075554151 which gets you through to a faults advisor but request a customer service advisor. This call will be charged at local rate or included in your calling plans

  • I too have been tearing my hair out trying to cancel BT infinity deal I ordered when they rang me about it. I have since found out you can do it cheaper by paying for line-rental for a year up front. It's easy to buy things from BT but almost impossible to cancel stuff - at least not as easy as it should be, they only give you 3 days to cancel but dont tell you how to contact them.

I will use those numbers, so glad there are people out there who know these things!

  • Hi David - it's really good to know we can contact you. However, I do think BT should have a button on its website that says 'customer services' and a phone number so that you can speak to a person in the UK. There are some things you need help with over the phone - an email is not always appropriate. After all, you are British Telecom - this sort of implies telephones feature as a form of communication in your company. I really do have a love/hate relationship with BT. So good in some ways and so utterly hopeless in others - especially communications!!! It feels like a one-way relationship - you can get hold of us anytime you want to, but you're not receptive to us getting in touch with you. Why are these phone numbers BT's best kept secret?

Rant over, I managed to get my issue sorted in the end.:A

Bt do have a live chat facility, I had to use it a few weeks ago with some billing probs for my mum, asked the person on chat if someone could call me, which they did, and they were very good, which surprised me!
