Home Insurance - single value limit

Hi,
Bit of advice please. In home insurance terms, how is the value of a 'Single High Risk Item' determined? Say the limit is £1500 and I have a pair of earrings worth £2000. Does that mean that individually they are £1000 each so under the limit?
cheers

No. Earrings are a set = single entity. Therefore you would only get the the single artical limit as maximum. Please note I have a cognitive disability - as such my wording can be a bit off, muddled, misspelt or in some cases i can miss out some words totally...0

As above - earrings are a pair or set so valued together.
You will need to list these items as a specified item of jewellery if they fall about the policy single article limit. Please bear in mind that listed items are usualy NOT index linked like the rest of your policy - you need to ensure the insured amount is sufficient to take on inflation (and inflation of diamonds and gold has been fairly high in the last year or 2) during the year and then updated each subsequent year.0
