my car keys were stolen and the car taken and was a write off .rsa mobility are investigating the circumstances probebly trying to get out off paying.i have no car but have been offered taxi fare by mobility operations but this is unsuitable in my case.they are still taking my mobility allowance and say i cannot have my allowance reinstated until the insurance investigation is completed.can anyone advise me can they keep my allowance and give me nothing in return. disabled people beware mobility operations are not all they seem to be.

i thought they would give you a courtesy car until the claim is proccesed ?
very bad if they dont0 -
When my car was written off in an accident, the garage that towed the car away had to provide me with a courtesy car until RSA collected it from their garage. Once RSA had the car, they offered me taxi fares implying this was the only option but I told them this wouldn't be practical because I live 15 miles from my son's school & 20 miles from the hospital which he needs to visit frequently so would use up the taxi allowance in 1 visit! They then offered me a family car for a maximum of 6 weeks but we currently had a people carrier to accomodate my son's wheelchair and the higher roof helps with getting him into his seat so we were given a Vauxhall Zafira for 5 weeks until our new car arrived.
If you're insistent but polite with genuine reasons for your request, they'll usually give you what you need as a gesture of goodwill. I forgot to say before they agreed to give me a hire car for 6 weeks, I asked them to stop taking my DLA payments so I could hire a car myself but I was told they couldn't do that until the case was closed & I should think of them as a savings scheme! :eek:2017 Wins: £200 (Total since 2008: £43,827!)Best wins: £5000 with ITV , Trips to New York fashion week/Malta/Lake Como/Paris/London/St Mellion spa, iPhones, iPad, TVs, vouchers

RSA and motability are 2 completely different entities. Of course motability is entitled to take payments for vehicle until they recieve insurance payout from RSA, just like any other lease contract. If you were to privately lease a car, you would still have to make payments until insurance payment came through. I am not sure if the same goes for motability but privately if the insurance company doesn't pay, you still have to finish the contract term minimum, possibly even pay full cost of car.
I think they are determining whether the keys and/or car were stolen through your own neglect. I assume the key theft was reported to police? If your vehicle is deemed a total loss or stolen and not recovered we are unable to provide a courtesy car.0
