This is the tasklist output record that i was also recommended to che ck from earlier thread. It means nothig to me can anyone advise?

It may be that something has messed with your Path setting.
Try entering the command:
c:\windows\system32\tasklist.exe
If that works, it would be interesting to see what you get back from the command:
path0 -
Not sure if I've done this right but here goes:

post the commit charge and ram figures instead.
uninstall zonealarm, enable windows firewall!!

Closed, thanks for the reply and the earlier post that i have followed.
Windows firewall now running, zonealarm uninstalled and that seems to have made an immediate difference!
Commit charge total: 307260
Commit charge peak: 341360
Physical memory: 490992
I know I'll not get outstanding perfomance from this old beast but would just like to keep it as best I can.
Any chance you can look at the HiJack this log on my other post?
