Silly worry, can anyone help?

I know this is a silly worry, but I'm moving into my new house in a couple of weeks and am getting really worried about not knowing how to work the boiler.
The house I'm in now has a combi boiler but I know the house I'm moving to has an old boiler that has a water tank...something I've never had before. I'm worried I won't be able to work the boiler to get hot water
.
Sorry for posting such a silly thing but it's really getting me stressed out

Don't worry - the owners (or landlord, if you're renting) are more than likely to leave the instruction book! I'm selling my house and have the boiler instructions and fridge / oven stuff all ready for the new buyers. Don't want them to get cold or hungry!0

If you can't find a manual online could you ask the previous owner (if you are buying) or the landlord/letting agent (if you are renting) to give you a quick demonstration?0

Not sure they are all the same, but we have a boiler for our heating, and a separate hot water tank. Both are controlled from a panel in the kitchen, but as far as I can tell this is the only link between them and they are separate systems. So it could be that your boiler doesn't control the hot water at all.
Hopefully it should be reasonably obvious, but until you get there you won't know. Just have a good look round for some sort of controls somewhere and take it from there.0 -
I've got one of those boilers and I set the hot-water timer for 15 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes in the evening and this gives me enough hot water for a bath every day and washing-up etcetera.
No normal person would mind if you asked ahead of time if they have a copy of the user-guide or whether they can confirm the model number of the boiler so you can find a copy online.0 -
I won't be able to Google anything about the boiler when I move because I won't have had an internet connection put in.
It might be a good idea to ask the previous owners for a quick demo though, thanks Nuttyneddy0 -

Thanks, am I best doing this through the EA?0 -
If you've exchanged contracts I'd think it perfectly reasonable to contact the vendors direct. This is a detail that I wouldn't expect an EA to give a fig about now that they've secured a sale so they might say that they'd contact the vendor on your behalf and then do absolutely nothing about it.0

Why not nip round the house at the weekend, have a drink with the owners, learn about the neighbours and boiler and any other useful stuff.
There is an odd stand off mentality between house sellers and buyers that really shouldn't exist once exchange of contracts has taken place.
When I sold my house last year, after exchange, I saw what I presumed to be the buyer 3 times. He drove into the road and parked outside my house looking at it. The next two times he did the same with others in the car with him.
I wish he'd just knocked and come in. I had many tips for him as I'd lived there for 20+ years.
Never did meet him.0 -

It's a really nice idea, and I wish I could, but I live 90 miles away at the moment and the vendor doesn't live in the house...I wish things could be more straightforward!0
