Thanks again for all the replies.
I think I've found my answer. I'll basically use my computer to the point it is too slow, and then opt to replace or upgrade it (although I think I'll most likely replace it). Instead of selling it, I would probably donate it to a charity.0 -

Good choices, you can also look for Microsoft partner refurbishers.
They are licensed to rebuild and sell / reuse PC's. I can't recall if you can get a discount aswell
