New customer, direct debit diff. to quote
Hi, I've changed to Npower for gas and electricity through simply switch. The quote for both paying through direct debit per year was approx going to be £156 yet I have now received confirmation that the supply has swopped over, and my direct debit is going to be £74 per month!! What to do??

What to do ?
CALL THEM and ask0 -
Are you sure the £74 is for both,
EDF send separate letters to me, one for gas and one for electricity and they also go out separately on my bank statement.
Better check.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Hi thanks for replies, thought I'd get some advice so I'm not getting fobbed off when I ring them. The split is £14 for electricity and £60 for gas.0

Do you have your consumption figures for the last year ? If you can say to them that you used x amount, they should adjust the monthly dd higher if you think that is appropriate for you.0
-
Presumably you opted to move to nPower to save money?
And it was suggested you would pay £156 per month which you found most acceptable?
So presumably you were paying even more than this with your previous supplier?
Do you really think paying only half of that reduced amount will cover your usage?"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
£14 per month for electric???0

The answer is obvious if you know it to be wrong put it up. Or wait 6-12 months and be staggered by massive increase in direct debit when they try to take it back in six months or so...
I don't mean to be harsh but sometimes the blame game works both ways. You see people on here jumping up and down saying the supplier didn't setup the direct debit. Yet they are equally to blame as they didn't notice its absence from thier bank statement.Mixed Martial Arts is the greatest sport known to mankind and anyone who says it is 'a bar room brawl' has never trained in it and has no idea what they are talking about.0 -
Well said that man! ^^
I hate Npower with a passion after past experience but that doesn't excuse the fact that anyone who's offered such a stupidly low monthly payment and then goes on to post here some months later with "But I didn't realise" and such statements should be tarred with the same brush that I used on that energy company that I just can't say twice in the same paragraph.

PC on, 2 lamps and a 42" LCD (and the odd phone charger etc) gives me £1.57 per day at this moment in time. I might be able to get this down to 80p per day (fridge/freezer mainly) provided that I used hardly any lighting, no TV, no gas CH (needs an electric pump) and other bits....
£14PM? Either see it as a gift and enjoy several months of lots of spare wonga or sort it now before you have to return in 6 months time and try to blame *power for your demise! In laymans terms, get real.
