This may sound silly to some, but she did stir the paint didn't she? I have sen it numerous times where people have not stirred the paint enough to mix the pigment and it has turned out a different colour. Alternatively, B&Q may not have put the correct number/amount/colour pigment into the base colour.

Yeah I asked her that too... apparently she did. To be fair though she is fairly good at DIY things as she did he bathroom and kitchen more or less on her own and they look really good.
  • Just a point on colour matching - I asked for a colour match paint and gave a pillowcase to be copied, colour ended up darker, can only conclude that the pillowcase was scanned without white card inside (the other side of the pillowcase was navy). I guess the training is minimal with the paint making machine.

(I can totally empathise with OP's GF - I am just as bad with paint colours, DH dreads me getting the paintbrushes out!)

Can't really add much to advice already given. But just wanted to post to say same happened to us.

Got tester pots of Dulux paint made up at our B&Q. Picked one and then got the full amount made up.

It was only after painting half of the room that we realised it was drying very differently to the tester pot.

We should have taken the paint back and complained but to be honest, it wasn't worth the trip as it was way out of our way. So ended up just painting over it with some other paint.

Annoyed now I look back that we didn't do anything more but at the time we had so much on that it was just not worth the hassle.

Hope you do get some form of goodwill gesture from them.
