Hi - we are a small family and are looking to book a villa in Kefalonia - have never been there before - is there anybody who has visited and if so, what area or villa company would you recommend? Is there anywhere we should avoid? Wanted a pool and lovely view if possible. Looking end August for 1 weeks (don't think we can really afford two plus have elderly parents committments). Thanks for any advice/help you can give me

There are some sandy and some shingle beaches so you may want to do a bit of research depending on your preference. I really don't like pebble beaches so this is a major factor for me.
Most of the areas are very small and low key. Public transport is not very developed and so you will either need a car or be near a centre of population as there are very few shops in some of the villages.
We stayed at Lourdas which has a small village shop and a couple of tavernas. It is also quite hilly0 -

How about going to one of the Chuckle Brothers for advice about renting a villa in Kefalonia?
( Now there's a sentence I never thought I'd type. )
