Car insurance claim window about to expire...

Hi all, looking for some advice here!
In August I reversed into a car at very low speed causing minimal damage (aesthetical only). I was due to sort out the damages with the guy I hit without involving insurance, and after several unsuccessful attempts at contacting him, he decided he was going to take it through insurance.
I received a letter regarding the claim and it has now been 5 months and my insurers have had no response to phone calls/letters from them. They only have 6 months to raise the claim and complete it, but it doesnt look like it's going to be followed through.
My question is... if the window passes for them to claim, and I have therefore no pending claims or settled claims, am I entitled to get my no claims bonus reinstated??

If he doesn't make a claim, then yeah, you should get your no claims back.0

The third party has 6 years not 6 months to make a claim.0

It's not for you to do the chasing. Just leave it to your insurers.0

That is the law!!
But Admiral may decide that if no claim comes within 6 months they will close the file, and restore any witheld NCD.
(But the third party still has the 6 years to put in a claim against you, so keep the details of your current policy safe so that you can get Admiral to deal with any claim that might surface against you over this in the distant future)0 -

You can claim up to 6 years after the incident....0 -
Your premium may alter because you have been involved in an accident.
The fact no claim had been made is irrelevant to the increased risk you now pose to your insurers.
It seems your insurers have known about this for some time, so hopefully any premium increase will have been applied at your last renewal, if there has been a renewal since the accident.0
