Invalid sigs

I hope this is the correct forum to ask this question.
I'm curious as to why people who have their sigs removed do not edit out the message once they've read it and either go with no sig or an acceptable one.
Some seem to leave the "We've had to remove ..." message there indefinitely.
Also, now I think of it, why not just delete the invalid sig and PM them?

There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.

Hi Azari
The message we leave also serves to act as a reminder / deterrent to others that we have a policy on signatures.
We assumed people would replace it reasonably swiftly, if they don't the message is helping makes others aware on forum policy whilst it is there too.
