Been at a work meeting all day, on a Saturday no less! At least I got free lunchSo not had time for much of anything, including ebay listing, but hopefully that'll change tomorrow.
Going to go into town tomorrow to sell these last DVDs to CEX and hopefully bring in a bit more cash. Also saw that our local Haldanes has Persil S&M at half price so may grab some of that too. What an exciting life I lead :rotfl:
I'm going to have a -real- struggle not buy anything when I'm in town... especially booksI -know- there are libraries I can borrow from for free, but I always end up with fines and having your own book is so much better some how
So..... my strategy is I'm going to go find a book on my shelves tonight to get into so I don't crave another!
Not much cooking to do this week since all the meals are in the freezer already.
Oh.. and I did a pinecone survey yesterday

A very productive day today :j Went into town to sell some more of our DVDs and games that CEX online were giving us good prices for, so that's another £48.20 to go towards the Natwest overdraft. We even parked outside the city centre and walked in so we didn't have to pay parking. OH took little one to play in the free soft play area in the shopping centre and I resisted buying anything else so didn't spend a penny! Having said that I sent hubby down to Haldanes for those offers so not a complete NSD.
Other good news is that a friend has given us a load of free fire wood, which is a relief since we're burning through it at quite a rate at the moment.
Defrosted Bolognese today so had that for tea and will have it for lunch tomorrow and will need to get the curry and some fish cakes out of the freezer for next week.
I got the bill through for the chimney work last week and phoned him on Friday to find out who to make the cheque payable too, but since I have -no- idea where my cheque book is I'm going to have to ask the bank for a new one tomorrow and probably wont get that till the end of the week.... so... it wont be till next week that he cashes the cheque.... I feel bad that it's so long after the work that he's getting paid (his fault since he didn't give me the invoice for 2 weeks and then didn't say how to pay him), but it works in my favour since it's less time I'll be in my overdraftFeeling guilty about this!
Been invited out for a friends birthday meal and drinks on Saturday, which I wasn't expecting :undecided It's only at pizza express, so not mega expensive thankfully and I'll see if there are any deals for it on here anywhere.
Checked my accounts today and saw I had a £25 fee added to Santandar one for going over the OD limit at begining of Jan (while OH was still in charge of it ). I swear that's the last fee I am EVER having on an account.
So tomorrow I'll cash the postal order I still haven't sorted yet, order my cheque book, pay in the money from CEX and get OH to post my next lot of ebay sales.
In three and a half hours I can say I get paid next week :rotfl:

Well done on the trade-ins at CEX! I have a couple of games I don't play anymore (as does h2b probably) and h2b has lots of old DVDs he doesn't want anymore so may see how much they would give us for them. Became Mrs W in 2011:smileyhea Blessed with Baby boy 1 in 2013, Baby boy 2 in 2016 and Baby boy 3 in 2018 :smileyheaDebt @ 19/8/11 [STRIKE]£20,060 [/STRIKE] current £0Paid off 100% :dance:0

Happy valentines day! :happyhear Hubby loved his watch
I've not got much to say but feel compelled to write something on here every day to keep my momentum.
Went into town on my lunch break and paid in the cash from CEX and the postal order. I'm not sure how postal orders work really... I thought it was essentially cash but the woman at Natwest said it needed time the clear, like a cheque, so I'm a bit confused. Anyway, that was £40 worth in all :j
I'm looking around for where is best to sell my old uni text books at the moment, as I must have spent £100's on them when I bought them. I could put them on Ebay or amazon for ok prices but I think I'll phone the uni bookshop tomorrow and see if they will buy them back as it'd save me the pain of under-estimating postage and packaging, like I always do!
Feeling a bit sad that I can't make any over payments on credit cards since I don't know how much I'll have free at the end of the month

Today has been a day of ups a downs. One of the girls I work with 'nicked' my overtime today as she was already down in the office registering for it when I went down saying 'I thought I'd do it for you so you didn't have to bother':mad::mad: I know bloody well she's doing it for the money, not as some bloody favour. On top of that she left work an hour and a half early today to go shopping!
Deep breaths *sigh*.
On top of that I got home today to an email from a supervisor of mine saying he'd emailed me to come for a meeting this afternoon and cancelled loads of other meetings to fit it in... I had no idea! I've had no email about it at all! And now he's all p***ed off!! Grrrrrr.... This guy was supposed to do a report regarding me to send up to senior management, which was going to have a big effect on my career and now he's saying I couldn't be bothered to turn up for it!!!
These things are sent to test us. :wall:
I'm going to email him tomorrow and tell him to email 'the management' and tell them I didn't get the meeting because -he- messed up.
Anyway............on a positive note, OH agreed that we could start trying for another baby this year :j Which makes up for all the other *&%$ that's happened todayI'm not sure I feel entirely happy having another baby while in debt but the idea is that by the time number 2 arrives (if we're lucky) I'll have paid off all the overdrafts and credit cards. It'll certainly focus my mind!
We haven't got a set time to start but I'm thinking maybe next month (though I think hubby is thinking more July time)
Nothing really money saving/making to report, been to distracted with the various ups and downs today.
Random note: I've just started watching 'Being Human' on Beeb 3 and it's AWESOME! Set in modern day with vampires, werewolves, zombies etc I have no desire to see any of those teen vampire movies but this is great

hi DB :grouphug: have a dodgy group hug.
you are right these things are sent to test us. I've had a fairly rubbish past few days too.
Glad you made some money on your DVD's. We have a load that DH just put into the loft for the carboot pile but now I'm thinking might be better to get them out and see how much they are worth. He wont want to go back and get them though...
Good luck with ttc. How old is your LO now? Luckily my Ds was 4& 1/4 when DD was born so no real jealousy issues and he's fab with her although she now gets VERY green eyed if he's cuddling her Daddy :rotfl:

Thank NaomiIt's definitely therapeutic having a good rant on here.
To top off my day yesterday I went on facebook in the evening to find a message from my brother saying he wasn't happy his kinds hadn't got their birthday presents yet  I'm sorry... when did presents stop being a nice surprise and became a 'right'? I simply haven't had the time or opportunity yet since we only have one car now, but it's still a bit cheeky to -demand- presents if you ask me.
Anyway, I posted their cards and money around this afternoon to keep him quiet, not that I'll get a thank you off either of them or their dad.
So it's going to be a bit of a high spending day today:
Lunch for OH as he forgot to take his packup this morning *rolls eyes* £3.00
Money for birthdays £20.00
B-day cards £3.00
Petrol £40.00 - but shouldn't have to fill up again till next month.
Ebay postage £2.00 - I'm guessing, I have to do this this afternoon
Almost £70 gone in one day and seemingly nothing to show for it!
I've rung the local uni bookshop and they've said they'll buy back text books as long as they have sold at least 5 copies in the last year and they are the current edition. I'm not sure how many of mine are going to fit that as I graduated quite a while ago now! They were very helpful mind, and said that I could just email them a list of the ISBNs and they'd tell me if they'd accept them :T I'll do that tonight and any they don't want I guess I'll stick on ebay/amazon.
Shopping day -again- tomorrow! I can't believe how quickly it comes round, or how much food I have in the freezerStill got that piece of beef and the chicken from week 1 so fingers crossed for another cheap-o shop.
I hope everyone's well

That shows the culture of "I deserve" that appears to be current I guess. Seems sad that your brother has said that though. I think family presents should be a suprise, it makes them all the more special when they come! Maybe you should send him a message in a week or so expressing unhappiness that you haven't recieved a thankyou letter! :-) Hope the rest of your day/evening goes much better.Current Debts: £45688.75

Thanks Katali. We'll see, I'm a pretty laid back person and I don't like to create drama but may be I will mention something to him at some point.
On a positive note, I've been looking at what our finances will be if we have another babyOne of the reasons I want to have another this year is because I change jobs in August next year and my maternity benefits could be slashed.
Currently I'd get 2 months at full pay, 4 months at 80% pay, 3 months at 30% pay and 3 months unpaid.
I'd probably want 10 months like I had last time, so that means I'll need a plan for the last 4 months. I would be able to cover all out goings on 30% pay, just, but will need to save £600 to cover the 'no pay' month. Hmmmm... I need a plan.
