my son and daughter in law are living in a housing association house that is too small for them.they are being terrorised by a group of men in their early 20s.to cut a long story short my son used to be hevally into drugs and hung out with these people he is not on drugs now hasnt been for over a year.problems started week before xmas these men went on to my son and threatend him and ruffed him up a bit and told him they wanted £400 off his.so he stupidly gave them the money.then last week he had to sign on at the job centre whilst he got there the men got out of their car and draged him into a lane and held a knife to his throte and told him they wanted another £350 or they would make him pay big time and also told him that they knew where he now lives.he paid them 2 days later.he went again today to sign on and they were there again so he turned around.now my step daughter and son are terrified to stay in the house as they have 2 young children 4 and 12 weeks.they have no money to pay a bond is there any help they can get towards it.they can have a paper bond but cant find anyone that will take them they recive jca ctc cb.the housing association have no other houses available as they are on the list with them.any advice will be most welcome as we are at the end of our tether with worry

Sorry I know you are asking about a bond money but - have they contacted the Police?0
-
no as they are afraid of the comeback from the men.i have told them to but they are scared stiff0

Their local council might have something that will pay the deposit for them but they pay it back weekly. They will get no help with the first months rent which is also required up front0
-
Have they looked at doing a transfer or asking the HA to move them? Do they realise how insecure private rentals can be and that they might have to move every 6 months or so.
I think they should report this to the police and get things sorted.0 -
The problem will merely follow itself to the new property, which will be more expensive and have less security of tenure. This is a matter for the Police and the Housing Association.0

As above, I know this does not answer the question that you have posted but the problem is not with the bond here.
The problem is that what guarantee you/they have that those people will not find their new address and follow them there. Are they then going to move again? And again? And again?
Moving in this situation is not going to solve the problem I am afraid...0 -
thank you for all your replys0

I would strongly advise you to ask your son to speak to the police they will be able to log the complaint, he does not need to press charges if he is afraid of retribution. He and his partner must speak with their local council as the situation they are in is putting their lives in danger. Irrespective of a persons past they will help and if the situation is too bad then there are places for them to go.Never judge a book by it's cover!
I may look well but I am very poorly, I am fed up with being judged because I cannot work. Grrr!!
I am not looking at them, they just aint real!

This is not a "help with housing bond" problem.
The problem here is crime.
He needs to make a statement to the police. Unless this happens it will just carry on.

How about remembering your divinity?
How about unabashedly bawling your eyes out?
How about not equating death with stopping?0
