Barclays cc

Can anyone advise i had a cc with barclays about 8years a go on which i defaulted i have a current account with barclays i have an overdraft facility and a loan could they take money from my current account to pay my cc help please

    Im afraid so even if stat bar, its under the rights to offset

    I dont think they can take any money from your current account without your Approval.
    Best thing to do is have a chat with them and check it out, but Im pretty sure they cant do that. Unless you set up a standing order to be the minimum balance or a set balance you agree.

    Yes they can.

    Is called the right to offset.

    If you owe a financial institution money on a credit account, and fall foul of the terms of that credit account, they are fully entitled to "offset" against funds held in another account with the same institution to cover your misdemeanour.

    Perfectly normal term for every current account and savings account available in the land.

  • Try opening a basicaccount elsewhere transfer salary but not your DDs. Then every month do a standing orderto your main account just to cover your bills, that way your bills are covered and there is no way for them to take your other monies as ities with an external bank.
