  • I suspect it's unique as I would have to write to him to get the refund.

The issue here is that the email states they've cancelled the order due to a pricing error and yet they've still sent some orders out with that pricing error - if they send some they send them all - its not fair to send some peoples orders and not others - i've emailed them

Yes, but isn't that generally the case with glitches? A few get through, then the glitch is spotted & the rest are stopped. One example I can remember was the clinique gift at Debenhams, a few got them, I didn't, c'est la vie. I don't begrudge those who got them, I just wasn't quick enough.
I remember at work some years ago, some sectors of staff complained about others getting their Christmas pay a few days earlier than them. The Company resolved 'this unfairness' by making sure that future payments to all staff were as late as possible before Christmas. In my experience nothing good is ever achieved by this approach.

I'm more upset by my Boots 75% order. It went through early, then I had an acknowledgement. A week later I received an apology email saying my order had been overlooked and would now be processed. I have just received an email tonight notifying me the whole order has been cancelled. What's worse is they seem to imply it was according to my request & gives me the impression they are doing me a favour by not charging me. The cheek!!
I know for a fact that some people ordered the same items after me & received them too.

I know people are going to jump down my throat, but how many people actually wanted this book,if it wasnt for the fact it was free i certainly wouldnt of tried to get it, anywho i didnt get it so onwards and upwards. If people really want it you can get it at Tescos where available for £3, so still a lot cheaper than the £15 when it first came out

Totally fair point. I ordered the book but had no desire for it myself, I was planning on giving it as an xmas prezzie or giving it to my nan who does regular charity raffles and this would've made a nice prize for her to keep for next christmas raffle (she's always hoarding prezzies in her spare room!)

I got mine at the start of last week - a nice surprise!
  • I had the cancellation email - but that's fair enough - I don't think that you can complain that a company didn't give you something for nothing! We all know these things are glitches when we try to order them-we are trying it on really and are lucky if some of them are honoured.
