Laptop freezing

Hello
I've another problem with my beloved laptop.
It freezes and the screen turns pink. Sometimes it freezes and after 10 minutes or so, it'll shut down by itself and restart. However, when it restarts it's just a black screen and it doesn't even load up the Dell logo. Then it may either restart again on its own or if I'm fed up, I'll restart it myself by pressing the start button.
It seems to take a long time to restart and often the picture becomes grainy before it settles.
I've done:
1. AntiVir in safe mode and ordinary Windows XP mode;
2. Spyware;
3. Malware;
4. Started doing MSRT but it froze twice!.
There's nothing wrong with it software wise.
I've done a F12 diagnostic test and it says 'Pre-boot assessment complete. No diagnostic utility partition identified. Please select ok to reboot your system'.
I'm using Windows XP. It's an ex work laptop, so I can't go into Control Panel, Performance and tools.
Any suggestions please?
Thanks.

Sounds like hardware failure check to see if its overheating or if any of the vents are clogged up.0

As it's ex-work, was it rebuilt before you got it? The reason I ask is that company IT departments often do this in a hurry, and don't bother to download the proper motherboard device drivers - in particular the wrong graphics device drivers can cause intermittent problems.
If it is just running on generic Windows drivers, these can sometimes be flaky.0 -

It was built for me at work when I was going to work from home. I then got to keep it.“It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living.”

Get a torch. Shine it into the vent on the bottom where the fan is and look at the vent on the side/back where the fan exhausts. If you can see light, its not blocked. If you can't see light it is blocked and is the source of all your woes. Every single home laptop I've seen without fail gets the heatsink blocked up by fluff.0
