CH or SB : Decent looking filing cabinet wanted

I work from home for small not for profit organisation, and use my spare bedroom as an office.

I really need a 4 drawer filing cabinet and want one that looks ok as it is the bedroom visitors stay in, so preferably a wooden one or similar. I did have a freebie of a metal one but it's tatty even though I've painted it so don't really want to go along that road again. Getting the thing home half killed me as well as nearly wrecked my car!! So delivery would be good too.

It would need to be A4 or foolscap size, last time i was looking I nearly bought one from Ikea but luckily noticed it would only fit their own files.

Filing cabinets seem so expensive, can anyone recommend a supplier of something decent - but cheap!!!! Even second hand office furniture suppliers are expensive.

Thanks

DS

    Have you tried freecycle?

Thanks, yes that's where my tatty metal one came from, wooden ones don't seem to come up/ people don't seem to want to get rid of them.

do you need a 4 drawer?

you can make a very smart desk from 2 x 2 drawer filing cabinets and a table top.

It looks difficult to find a 4 drawer filing cabinet in wood, especially a cheap one.

Netto have a 2 drawer one in beech effect for £19.99 from tomorrow. Self assembly, so will fit in the car to get home

Perhaps you could buy two and stack them on top of the other ... but I would suggest you consider securing them together if you do. (which should be quite easy to achieve)

    ESSENTIAL!

btw, will the charity pay for this? if they require you to work at home, they should, IMO.
