I bought a car two years ago for £20k, I went to sell it today and the valuation was £10k - OMG!?!?!?!?! less than half I paid for a brand new car.
Where can I complain ? Surely I am entitled to a full refund from the car sales ? Can I get a solictor to sue the car sales for £40k ?
Should I write to my MP ?Legal team on standby0 -

gold is a precious metal and has a value, diamonds have no use and as stated earlier are only worth the price we put on them, now if i could only convince Mrs Kaya of this i would have a lot more spare cash, i have brought diamonds for my wife on more than one occasion as i love her and she loves them, i can't put a price on her happiness and certainly wouldn't expect to get back anywhere near what i paid for her diamonds, but the smile on her face makes them worth every penny to me :-)0

How exactly do you think he was ripped off? You're going by the fact that other jewellers and auction houses are offering to buy it off you for less than a quarter of the price you paid/valuation?
How do you think these places work? For profit maybe?;)
Seriously, the place you bought it from makes a profit,if you sold it to jewellers or an auction house they want to make a profit.
It's secondhand.
It's 'value' will fluctuate.
I honestly don't get why you are so shocked and disgustedIf women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
Why is it that every thread, almost without exception, that contains the phrase "Rip Off" in the title then go on to talk about something that isn't a rip-off?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Hi, my OH half has bought me an engagement ring (last Jan). He wanted to spread the cost so he took out an interest free credit arrangement with Beaverbrooks. He now realises he's been totally ripped off and although he paid just over half the ticket price, and thought he was getting a bargain!!, the ring is not even worth a quarter of the so called valuation.
We have called Beaverbroooks and they are not interested until the final payment has been made and then they may give him a credit note. We've tried to sell it to other jewellers and even and auction house but they are offer less than a quarter of what it's valued at.
OH feels totally ripped off. Are there any consumer rights regarding being taken in and ripped off??
he's not been ripped off, you can't sell it as you don't own it. who revalued it & why? cashconvertors or some pawn broker? if your selling it'll always be worth less, simple as, thats life!0
