Hi, the wired connection is via an ethernet cable, like the one shown below.

All newish towers will have a network connection.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

    thanks penrhyn
it has 2 plug points but they are little old telephone to modem holes
it must be an old tower as my other tower is connected as described in your pic
only thing i have come accross so far is a wireless usb stick thingy, would rather be able to use a cable though

Cheaper to buy an ethernet card for it. Check ebay and Amazon for one. Make sure you have space for it, and it will likely be a PCI (as opposed to PCI-E) socket in a 6 year old machine.

Takes about 2 minutes to fit them, and no technical expertise needed.

Edit: £2.80 delivered on ebay! Linky

yes, as above your PC is missing a plain old network card and only has an old dial up modem. (could even rip out and replace the dial up card unless you're planning on going back to 28.8kb internet)

£3 odd on ebay as indicated above
  • If you don't want to open the tower you can get USB-to-Ethernet adapters too eg eg
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.
