sp2 Wont Install

about half way thought the install of sp2 it stops and says access denied.
i have tryed running fixdb and resstarting my computer and then trying but still the error comes up. I download the full version instead of using windows updates but still get the same error. i looked in the service pack folder in setpapi in c windows and fould this.

have checked vnds.ms.radio to see if the permissions the for the administrator are set to allow do i need the make users have full permissions. I'm on a administrator account.

I had the same thing and I cured it by booting up in safe mode and then installing SP2.
