My best buy so far was Favours- silver foil covered Swiss milk Chocolate umberellas from waitrose (they were xmas decorations but expiry daye is 08/2012), they were originally £1.75 each reduced to 10p each!!!
I need to find cheap cream pilliar candles to go in hurricane vases for centrepieces but unsure where to find them?
I also need ideas on a really cheap post box for wedding cards on the day, that looks nice. my colours are dark purple and ivory

My budget for favours has dipped from around £300 to about £30.
I had this well thought out idea for wonderful favours, but realised that although I had put a lot of thought into them, something a lot cheaper would be fine, and my guests would probably be fine with them regardless!
Dress - I could never spend £1,000 on a dress (though I can see the temptation). Luckily a friend has offered to make me one as a gift, all I have to do is buy the materials, for about £250.
BMs dresses - these will be off the rail high street, hopefully around £50-60 each. And I'm not buying shoes / accessories. I'd rather they be comfy in their own style.
No wedding car (no need really)
DJs will be mates, so free (though we're still paying for a band).0 -

Bargains I have so far.
Dress - was planning to get this second hand but my mum put her foot down and said she'd buy this. Just as well as I can't find a second hand version of my dress anywhere. Saved money still by going to a dress shop out of the way a bit, where the prices were lower. Dresses I tried on in the city were around £1400. My dress costs a little under £600 new.
Bridesmaid's - bought their dresses new from an eBay seller mentioned on here before. Cost £32.99 each and look like they cost three times that. Shoes I bought in bhs sale.
My shoes - rainbow club shoes from ebay. Rrp £70 and I got them for £10.
Veil and tiara - eBay. Couldn't believe how much the bridal shops wanted four them.
We also saved a couple of thousand by having our wedding on a Sunday. Sadly we didn't realise that would make so many other things way more expensive though.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
You don't need to spend a fortune to have a lovely day: So far we've spent:
Registry Office - £112.50
Reception - £150 (local footy club)
DJ - £200 (a friend of ours)
Wedding dresss- £40 (got mine in from Roman Originals sale)
Invites - £0 (free from Vistaprint)
Left to do:
Flowers - my cousin is a florist so hoping for family discount
Food - mums friend is an ex-caterer so she is doing
Cake - friend of MIL is doing
Cars - using our own
Photos - taking our own (small ceremony close family only)
Suits - prob buying cheap from Matalan
Decorations - from ebay
See you can do your day on a budget, we are hoping to spend 1-1.5k - we always put it off thinking it cost thousands, but then I found this site and found it so helpful cutting costs!:rotfl:0 -
Hey,
Here's some suppliers that I used....and some tips. We managed a castle wedding for under £10k so felt like real achievement
- http://www.cutemaps.co.ukSuper gorgeous personalised wedding invites (postcards) I got them with a discount flyer so they came in at just under £1 each.
- http://www.momentville.com Free wedding websites. I used the postcard to direct people to our wedding website which had all the full info on it
- http://freegiftregistry.com We put a link on our website to this. It meant our registry consisted of ANYTHING we could find for sale on the web!
- http://www.trianglenursery.co.uk I designed all my own flowers. I had elaborate tree centerpieces that would have cost the earth, but managed to do all of our flowers on £300
- http://www.bestbridalprices.com Everything I liked seemed designer so I bought a simple mermaid Alfred Angelo from this site for $400 and then had a designer out a strange bow and over the shoulder detail on it - total cost £430
- http://www.ebay.co.uk Bought tons on here from card to deco. I bought wooden monogram letters for £2 each, painted them white and hung them around everywhere with pretty ribbon
- http://www.michaeldark.co.uk Excellent for buying bulk decoration bits. I bought dried rose petals instead of confetti. A 2 litre bag was apx £10
- http://www.etsy.com absolutely awesome website for all things cute and crafty. I bought a really unique fabric necklace on here for my bridesmaids
- http://www.stylemepretty.com not a supplier but the best blog for wedding inspiration!
- http://www.marthastewart.com the wedding section has hundreds of unique diy projects!
Good, good luck with your big day!!0
