Gaming PC £425 any weak points?

Looking at this for a client who wants to run Call of Duty, battlefield , first person shooter type games on a 19" monitor.

Also general workhorse stuff, office/internet/photos.

Anything missing fro this spec, he has a top budget of £450.:)

erm yes a operating system :D

always a good place to look although from some reviews it appears their delivery estimates are usualy a little optimistic so its something to take into account (also delivery is £25) but other than that from what i can tell when you do get the system you will have a good system for the money

on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

    well then not really,

the overclock is a bit poo, but then again they are still using the retail cooler so i wouldnt want to push it any further, just remind the client to clean the fans at least every 6 months as a over clock on a stock cooler is likely to push the thermal limits of the chip so if it gets clogged with fluf it will make the cooler even less effcient and could start to cause damage

  • It's decent enough for its planned use. You could probably even get a cheaper graphics card, it's only running on a 19 inch monitor, and get a slightly better cpu.
There's no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

to be honest on board sound is usualy good enough for most people

the heatsink and fan - i would always recommend a aftermarket one, the Arctic cooler ones are usualy very good value, but a quick look at the site i would go for the coolermaster one at £12 unless the client is looking at doing further overclocking - also might be worth while to find out how much it would cost for them to fit it as fitting your own might invalidate the warrenty

as to DinoPC, i havent used them myself as i always build my own, so cant say from person experience, however as you will have seen their delivery is usualy the major bug bare, prices and specs all seem to be competative but delivery !!!! ups should be something to think about when doing it for a client as it a !!!! up on their behalf could have bad ramifacations on you
