Some ideas for a smoked gammon hock please?

Just received the most beautiful free range smoked gammon hock (well 3 of them but 2 are in the freezer). I weighs 1.7 kilo's and looks more like a leg of lamb to me (only cost £1.80).
I want to make the most of it. My children lurve bacon/ ham/ gammon so I am thinking I will put some aside to put in dishes for them but it still leaves me with a massive lump of meat!
I would be grateful for any ideas or recipes?
