Olympus Battery Charger

I'm looking for a battery and rechargeable batteries for my Olympus camera. It says to only use BU-90SE Quick charger but it is £112 with 4 batteries on Amazon.
Can I use a cheaper alternative? What difference would it make? Any suggestions. The charger could work out dearer than the camera! The camera is an Olympus X-42.
