'When will EDF hike prices?' blog discussion

Got a phone call yesterday from EDF asking me to switch.
Must admit putting figures of my current supplier into a spreadsheet and comparing prices based on Equal Quarterly kWh for both Electricity and Gas. Even if there is a price hike in March they still come out favourable. However they did state the contract would not start until about 6-8 weeks time. So I guess thats the new price per unit (kWh)
The prices offered were:
Gas per Quarter:
7.1p/kWh for the first 670 units.
2.9p/kWh for the remaining.
Electricity per Quarter:
20p/kWh for the first 225 units.
9.7p/kWh for the remaining.
6% Discount per quarter and Direct Debit Payment Discount.
No online Discount.
Does anyone have any better prices or deal?0 -
They've removed discounts for supplying your own meter readings.
So for a low user, its quite a hike. Think its around £3 per quarter each for gas and elec.0 -

Hi, how do you define a low user?0 -
