how about a normal PIR spotlight and a basic CCTV set up, i would expect it would be cheaper than a IR CCTV set up, also might be more likely to stop the vandles if they have a bright light on them - might not but it mightDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
I have a micromark setup. It automatically starts a video recording when it senses movement and uses IR led's for night time viewing. works well. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Micromark-MM23214-Videostarting-PIR-camera/dp/B00067A3ZY/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1295951635&sr=8-11If I have helped in any way, and you feel like it - please press the thanks button:beer:0

You'd need to spend a fair bit of money to get any useful images at night.
If you do decide to go ahead make sure that you stay within the law. Here is a rough guide but you'd need to research the actual legislation - http://www.protectingyourself.co.uk/security-cameras-and-the-law.html0 -
Zoneminder.
Totally free. Can use USB cameras. Runs on Linux.
Only captures when there's movement. Works brilliantly with a cheap PIR light. Or you can flood the area with an infra red light.0
